Crystal Chalet

The only private standalone Vail Village home at the base of Gondola One, Crystal Chalet is a mountain masterpiece, the result of a multi-million-dollar, carefully crafted renovation in December 2020. Originally built for Vail’s first Mayor in Austrian-ski home style, Crystal Chalet’s total transformation converted the traditional compartmentalized rooms into a study of contemporary continuity: sweeping light-filled spaces with clean lines, natural finishes, floor-to-ceiling windows, and distressed custom-patinaed flooring.

Wrought iron chandeliers hang from 20-foot ceilings, framing the original two-story stone wood-burning fireplace, and mixed textiles like leather, mohair, and hide connect to the natural landscape.

Crystal Chalet’s new flexible floorplan opened up the kitchen to reveal full mountain views, creating a convivial gathering hub with state-of-the-art culinary amenities, like a 48-inch cooktop Wolf Range, Sub-Zero wine system, and dark marble slabbed bar. Art walls flow within the interior, along with natural stone finishes, sliding glass rollers in baths, and custom cabinetry, and a mountain-inspired, stunning jagged quartz chandelier suspended over the dining table.
